Gritti Venetia was created in 2010 as a tribute by founder Luca Gritti to his ancestor Alvise, a noble Venetian merchant and diplomat. The 16th-century formulas Alvise created, in which he sought to condense emotions into an olfactory image, served as inspiration for his descendant to create a unique perfume brand where the highest quality ingredients, attention to detail, and respect for history are paramount in the creative process. 

The woody-spicy Saraj Gritti perfume is a composition dedicated to a princess named Alaja. It portrays a woman who harbors a unique mystery, and an encounter with her remains etched in the memory forever. 

Saraj is filled with the aroma of resins and spices, primarily cinnamon and cloves. At the heart, a labdanum accord combines with the freshness of vetiver, lending the perfume a lightness. Myrrh, incense, and musk form the base of the olfactory pyramid, strengthening the whole and lending it an oriental character.
